St. Paul rallied whole communities to Christianity. I have yet to make a single convert.
I thought I had only to mention the phrase "Lutheran Surrealism," and whole countries would fall into place, and that the walls of cities worldwide would shake.
I know exactly what LS is, and what it does, and it feels to me like the greatest invention ever. But it may be an invention that is useful only to me. I wanted to keep the avant-garde alive, and to give it an ethical framework, based on real principles rather than on flimsy demographic criteria.
Perhaps either no one else needs this (ever so likely), no one else wants this (possible), or everyone just has to roll their own.

Ridiculous as usual.
maybe LS needs some global black market appeal
perhaps i can help
i think it will be important to begin
in countries where christianity has taken a stronghold
like syria and iran in ages long past..where the christian language is arabic
i have some armenian friends in ankara
perhaps they can help too
and get the muslim people to laugh a little bit
jesus just wants them to lighten up and laugh a little
learn to juggle and tell jokes at the same time
waltz with bears that sort of thing
and perhaps LS can have some diplomatic leverage there
i just couldn't help myself
off to the confessional
on with the horsehair shirt
JH, we're tapping our fingernails waiting for April 11th. It's very tough without you around, I have to confess (I, too, like to confess, even though our denomination doesn't really require this). Waiting for you to come back is a little like waiting for a friend to come back at summer vacations after they visit their grandmas in Indiana.
Meanwhile, there's nothing to do.
Jacques and Emma are also hard to find.
I bought a Wheelock's Latin grammar in preparation for their return, in order to stun them.
As for Meg, well, of course this is ridiculousness as usual. My whole schtick is that humor IS religion. That when we laugh we are experiencing the two kingdoms simultaneously. Laughter is thus a religious act.
The stand-up comedian is the new priest.
Meg:
As usual, ridiculous.
Something just clicked, Meg, about the brilliance of your phrase -
ridiculous as usual.
Not just meaning ridiculous the way one is usually ridiculous.
But also ridiculous as the idea of a usual.
Like 'ridiculous as Harry Potter' or 'ridiculous as Blago's hair'
'ridiculous as usual.'
You just blew my mind.
whoa
just finished reading
romans again
on to 1 corinthians
and refractions
a luminous book
am enthralled
and tariq ali
